Getting away with it

Only half a pound gain at Slimming World this morning. Considering the amount of cake I ate on holiday I think I’ve been very lucky! Definitely getting back to normal eating now though.

Have sorted out the house and am just getting on with a few admin jobs before our boardgaming guests arrive tonight.

Bullet points

After a short run this morning (decided on a rest week due to a few aches and pains – I’ll be back doing the longer distances next week), I spent most of the day doing some editing for a client (Masters dissertation season is still chugging along!) and then updating my to-do list/bullet journal, which I’ve been neglecting while I’ve been away.

Back to Slimming World to face the post-holiday music tomorrow morning! I’ve already got lots of ideas for healthy meals over the next few weeks, though, so I should be able to get rid of any gain fairly quickly.

Coming down to land

Geth and I are back home in Newcastle after nine days of travelling! I have lots to update about from our travels, and will tell you all about it over the next few days. In the meantime, I am enjoying being back on my own sofa under a blanket (the weather has noticeably cooled, making me doubly excited for autumn) and not having to drive anywhere for a while (my wee Skoda has done some miles over the last week and a bit!).

Tonight I’m a bit too tired to do anything except veg, but I’m looking forward to getting caught up with everything tomorrow!

OOTD 13th August 2019
OOTD: back in my garden. Geth is not happy that the weeds have grown back while we’ve been away! Dress Primark (2018), tights Pretty Polly (2018), trainers Reebok (2013).

Flying Monday post

One last flying post before things semi-return to normal tomorrow. It’s been another busy day at work and I’ve not had time for much else!

I know I promised a Music Video Monday post this week – I have not quite managed that today, nor have I had time to take an outfit picture, but here’s the video for Dolly Parton’s 9 To 5, which features lots of footage of the kind of outfits I would wear if I actually had to go out to an office for work!

Just a quick update tonight as internet is sketchy! Today I’ve run a new parkrun (review post coming in a few days’ time), eaten a lot of cake, and done a lot of editing work for clients. Looking forward to everything settling down again mid-week.

Artefacts

After going for brunch with my brother and sister-in-law Malcolm and Steff this morning, Geth and I headed to a museum for a wander round. I’ll do a full post on that next week – I’m still a bit too busy for more than a quick update each night at the moment!

We had a nice family meal out as well, and I’m now planning to get a fairly early night before parkrun tomorrow.

Phone Box Thursday: Victoria Embankment, London

In up-to-date phone box news, the family and I have found lots of them while out exploring this week! They’ll all get posted later in the year.

In the meantime, here’s another one from the final stretch of the London Marathon!

Red phone box

That slightly blurry structure sticking straight out of the top of the phone box is in fact the London Eye.

A slightly different phone box from the Embankment next week!
