I’ve had a lot of time today to get on with writing, work for clients, and admin today, which has been great. Geth was delivering a lecture this evening, so we went for a drink afterwards, but otherwise I’ve just had a quiet day.
A slightly busier day tomorrow.
OOTD: day in the house. Glasses Emporio Armani (2017), hoodie Internacionale (2000), t-shirt Campus Crew for Toronto Blue Jays (2018), jeans Zara (2018).

Another busy day, but I’ll get back to my regularly scheduled review posts with Phone Box Thursday tomorrow!
I went to finish the paperwork for my new car this morning so that I could drive it home. It’s nice to have it sitting on the driveway! I’m planning to keep it in the garage long-term, though, so Geth and I need to do some tidying up in there.
I spent the afternoon doing work for clients, and then headed to ukulele class in the evening. I’m really enjoying the beginners’ class – we’re learning some interesting songs.
A slightly quieter day tomorrow!
OOTD: I will stop posting pictures of myself with my car eventually. Not today though! Glasses Emporio Armani (2017), jacket unknown brand (estimated vintage 1990s, bought at vintage shop 2003), t-shirt Punk Masters (2018), jeans Vivid (2018), trainers Reebok (2013).

A fairly busy day today. I had work to do for a couple of clients for most of the day, and otherwise have just been sorting out the house and getting all my writing and admin tasks done for the day as Geth and I have a guest round for boardgaming tonight.
Tomorrow is another Wednesday of being out and about, as my eye saga continues! It feels back to normal now, though my vision is still blurry from the drops. I’m hoping the doctor will be able to see some improvement.
OOTD: blue Tuesday. Blouse Yessica (vintage 1980s, bought at vintage fair 2018), skirt Calvin Klein Jeans (2004), trainers Reebok (2017).
Today’s earworm playlist:
FM-84 and Ollie Wride – Running In The Night Duran Duran – The Edge Of America The Midnight – Gloria Duran Duran – I Believe/All I Need To Know Sam Cooke – Wonderful World
I had a bit of day job work to do this morning, but in the afternoon I was able to relax a bit with music and internet. Now spending the evening catching up with a few quick writing tasks.
Looking forward to a similarly quiet weekend!
OOTD: not quite ready to put the jumpers away yet (it snowed briefly today! In May!). Glasses Emporio Armani (2017), jumper Ellend (vintage 1980s, bought at vintage fair 2019), jeans Vivid (2018).
It’s been a busy day – I went to the polling station with Geth first thing to vote in the council and mayoral elections, then to Slimming World (I put on an obscene amount of weight this week but I’m trying not to panic because it’s presumably just post-marathon bloat – this has happened after races before). I’ve spent the rest of the day doing editing for clients.
Tomorrow should be a slightly quieter day. I’m already looking forward to the bank holiday weekend!
OOTD: getting bored of cropping my eyes out so I I thought I’d show off my new sunglasses instead. Sunglasses Ray-Ban (2019), jacket unknown brand (estimated vintage 1990s, bought at vintage shop 2003), dress Monteau (2018).
Today’s earworm playlist:
Richard Marx – Right Here Waiting Glenn Frey – The Heat Is On The Power Station – Some Like It Hot David Bowie – Fame Mike & The Mechanics – The Living Years Heart – Alone Level 42 – Lessons In Love* Arcadia – Election Day Abba – Lay All Your Love On Me Duran Duran – Meet El Presidente Genesis – Land Of Confusion
Lots of appointments and lots of work to do today!
I picked up my new prescription sunglasses at the opticians this morning (finally!), meaning I no longer have to choose between being dazzled or blind when I’m out in the sunshine. I’m currently finding pretty much all daylight far too bright due to the uveitis, so I’m really happy that I’ve been able to collect them now.
In the afternoon, I had a follow-up appointment at the eye clinic. This was a bit of a saga (eye is healing okay, it’s just that they needed to do a lot of checks) and took quite a bit longer than expected. Have to go back in again next week as well, which is slightly stressful.
The evening appointment was more enjoyable – ukulele class has started up again! This term, I’ve moved up to ‘beginners’ from ‘absolute beginners’, and it’s nice to be starting a new class with new tunes. Looking forward to the term ahead.
In between all that, I’ve been doing day job work. Business is booming at the moment so tomorrow will probably be similarly hectic!
OOTD: looking forward to being able to wear eye makeup again! Glasses Emporio Armani (2017), hoodie Internacionale (2000), dress Triumph (vintage 1980s, bought at vintage fair 2018), belt H&M (2017).

Back in Newcastle this evening after a mental few days in London. Also back to work today as I had a bit of editing to do for a client while I was on the train.
I’ve got a busy couple of days coming up – really hitting the ground running as I return to post-marathon life! Thankfully I’ve got a quiet weekend coming up so I can catch up with everything.
OOTD: it’s been a tiring few days, and my eye is not quite ready for its close-up yet. Glasses Emporio Armani (2017), jumper Carlo Colucci (vintage 1980s, bought at vintage fair 2017).
Today’s earworm playlist:
Duran Duran – Shadows On Your Side Elton John – I’m Still Standing Spandau Ballet – True Fleetwood Mac – Rhiannon The Midnight – Gloria Ava Max – So Am I
After a whirlwind morning of extra clients showing up with emergency day job work, my usual treadmill run, getting away with only half a pound gain at Slimming World (I have not been good at staying on plan this week so I’m okay with that!), finishing the day job work I’d actually planned to get done today, and getting a small chunk done on my writing project, it is officially Easter holidays and I am off out for a Maundy Thursday night out tonight! Will update properly tomorrow.
Today’s earworm playlist:
Stephen ‘Tin Tin’ Duffy – Kiss Me Mabel – Don’t Call Me Up Spandau Ballet – Gold Queen – I Want It All Little Mix – Move Ariana Grande – Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored Westlife – Hello My Love The Beatles – Drive My Car Cast of Chicago – Cell Block Tango
I’ve spent the day happily esconsced in my writing again. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I’m considering just pulling a ‘weigh and go’ at Slimming World tomorrow so that I can get home earlier and squeeze an extra bit of writing in. I do have day job work to do tomorrow as well, so we’ll see.
My characters are currently in 1979, so I’m constantly having to break off from writing and Google stuff like ‘when did SCART connectors become standard on TVs?’ and ‘did Quality Street tins have cellophane seals around the lid in the ’70s?’ An answer to the latter question is currently eluding me. I have watched this 1978 Woolworths Christmas advert many times today, trying to work out from the shot of the Quality Street tin (at 1:00 in the video) whether it has a cellophane seal or not:
I can’t be accused of not doing my research.
Looking forward to finishing up for Easter tomorrow.
OOTD: liking the floral ’80s dresses as we approach Easter weekend. Dress Fink Modell (vintage 1980s, bought at vintage fair 2018), belt unknown brand (vintage 1980s, thrifted from Mum 2019), tights Primark (2017), shoes Carvela (2018).
Today’s earworm playlist:

I got up early this morning because I needed to do some urgent work for a client, but other than that I’ve just spent today doing bits and pieces of writing and looking at cars that I might buy. I did get out for a walk as well, which was nice.
Hoping for a more focused writing day tomorrow.
OOTD: it feels like I’m never going to get out of these winter jumpers! Jumper unknown brand (vintage 1980s, bought at vintage fair 2019), jeans H&M (thrifted from Steff 2016), trainers Reebok (2017).
