Long weekend

Friday is here and with it the running weekend. I ran with the social group this morning, will do an easy-paced parkrun tomorrow and will go for eight miles on Sunday. Other than running I will be keeping things extremely quiet. September is really busy for us and I need to conserve some energy.

Bank holiday on Monday (I always forget about these things until they’re upon us) so a bit of extra weekend too!

Being more comfortable

House projects are going well at the moment. I am mostly reorganising things (got some new crates on the way from Amazon later this week – super exciting I know!). Decluttering is an ongoing process and my hoarding tendencies make it hard. I’m planning to make a bit of a ‘station’ for it in the next few days so that it doesn’t take over the house.

I’m getting some good gaming time in this week as well. There have been a lot of times this year when I’ve been so busy with TechUP or my game projects or other things that I just haven’t scheduled enough time into the day to switch my brain off properly. I’m trying to make that a priority for the rest of the year.

Weekend mode

Started today off with a lovely run with the social group, which is becoming something I’m really enjoying on Friday mornings. Volunteering at parkrun tomorrow so will do a very gentle run back, and then hopefully I’ll be able to manage my twelve miles on Sunday!

I’ve been making a bit more time for reading and gaming this week, which has been so beneficial (I’m usually non-stop with day job stuff, writing, running and other ‘busy’ pursuits). Going to try and continue this.

Weekend…

…and hoping to make it a long one if I can. Forecast is claiming super hot weather on Monday and Tuesday so it’d be nice just to doze. We’ll see what comes in with work next week.

Geth is on leave from this evening so it’ll be nice to have him home for a few weeks as well. It’d be good just to be quiet for a bit.

Post-deadline

I’m finding it a bit difficult to believe that Things that Happened in Houghtonbridge is finally out… but it is, and you can play it here! I’ve been working on the game since February and it turned into a bit of a behemoth. It’s a lot more narrative-focused than my previous games and so it required a lot of revision during the creation process (I was still adding scenes as late as yesterday!). I’m really happy that it’s finished now.

Today I went to the hospital to have one of my hearing aids fixed, meaning that I can now finally hear in stereo again (it’s been a few months so it’ll take some adjustment). Looking forward to a really quiet weekend after a mad month.
