Another phone box from Mum and Dad’s travels.
(Coordinates 53°26’40.4″N, 2°23’50.5″W.)
A nice useful defibrillator box at the crossroads of two A roads. There seem to be more and more of these recently, which is great.

Mum and Dad have been travelling around England and have sent me a veritable haul of phone box pictures, so I’ve got lots to share over the next few months!
This first one is from near Warburton Bridge and appears to be located slightly off the road in a car park.
(Coordinates 53°40’92.6″N, 2°46’46.9″W.)
This phone box is empty and missing a few panes of glass, but the paint appears to be quite well-kept. Nicely framed among the trees too!
Added a Street View link for this dilapidated Shap box today.
I was a bit fearful that the box might have gone by now, but it’s still there as of June 2022!
Mum and Dad found me another phone box in rural Scotland last week.
(Coordinates 55°67’01.6″N, 3°60’79.6″W.)
Some interesting stuff going on with the paintwork here. The red exterior looks sad and neglected (common for rural boxes) but the frames round the glass panels have been painted white at some point (over a decade ago, judging by Google Street View). I don’t think I’ve seen one like that before!
Bill sent in a photo of this shiny museum piece at the weekend!
(Coordinates 52°18’92.7″N, 1°48’06.8″W.)
Google Street View has some images from inside the museum, which shows us that the phone box was in a different place last year. I think it looks better in its current location. Nearly as shiny as the cars!
Another phone box from Scotland next week.
Added coordinates to the post for these Durham boxes. Gradually collecting all the data I’ll need for the map.
Still haven’t been back to Durham for a less blurry photo! One day…
Updated the post for this interestingly-painted Leeds phone box today.
It still looks the same as of July 2021 according to Google Street View!
We found another phone box while in Dumfries and Galloway at the weekend!
(Coordinates 54°79’20.9″N, 4°43’32.2″W.)
It doesn’t look like there’s a phone in this one – and it’s fenced off so I couldn’t open it to check. I’m guessing that’s a periscope attached to the roof, but I’ve no idea why!
Today I added coordinates for the nice row of four phone boxes in City Square, Leeds.
Coordinate-finding is coming along nicely. I have about another 30 phone box locations to update with coordinates, and then I should be able to move onto making my interactive map next year.
Adding coordinates today for a box from a 2016 trip to Leeds.
From Google Street View, it seems that neither the box nor the surroundings have changed much – though the missing ‘Telephone’ plates have now been replaced with ‘Cash’ ones, which looks nice and smart!
