Back to game-making

Going to start the coding on my Hallowe’en game today. I was meant to start last week but I wasn’t feeling well enough to concentrate on code. It’s been a few months since I settled into a game project and I think the small game I’ve planned out for this month will be a good way to dive back in.

Still only running short but feeling a lot better out there now – energy levels are almost back to normal.

Eyes on October

Nice quiet week continues and so does the planning for my Hallowe’en game. The aim is to get everything sketched out this week and then start the coding for it next week. Excited to get back into game-making after doing other things for a few months.

Also excited about a quiet weekend for the first time since August! September has been an interesting but fairly manic month.

A nice start to the week

My comma day run was lovely. It was a wet evening but there was a lovely rainbow at one point, and it was really nice to run with the social group! Onto the next thousand now with a nice gentle mile this morning.

A quieter week at work this week so I’m hoping for some early finishes. Got a game to finish playing and another to start making 🙂

Midweek bounce

The week continues apace. Got all my work finished today so I should be able to get in some game-making tomorrow (too busy on Friday).

A surprisingly faster ‘easy run’ this morning – I need to watch out for that and make sure I’m keeping things easy!

Also extremely happy that it’s September tomorrow. The signs of autumn are starting.

Off to a good start

One day down of the truncated work week and I’ve already got the bulk of my day job work done. This is very hopeful in terms of having a bit of time to work on a game towards the end of the week.

Weekday runs are also going well – I’m not suffering from the post-long-run energy slump that has been a thing for the last few weeks. Still feeling good about the GNR. Twelve days to go 🙂

Great start to the weekend

A really good 24 hours. I found out late last night that I’d come third in the most recent game competition I entered, I finally made it to the social run group I’d been meaning to join this morning and now I’m back in Dumfries and Galloway for some more running adventures here. Looking forward to the next few days!

Gaming time

Another medical saga today, but it’s a bit depressing to go into and it worked out okay in the end. Time to think about more interesting things!

The initial stages of the new game are going well, though I’m taking it fairly slowly this week as I ease back into it. I’ve also got a couple of short games that I plan to play over the next few days, especially as we’ll be travelling again for a couple of days.

Getting started

After work today I was able to get my new game file started – there have been a few false starts but I’m finally happy with this initial idea and am excited to get the game made! – and have also done a few more small things around the house. I’ll be trying to balance the two projects (along with running) over the next few months. If I focus on one thing (which is my natural tendency), I get a bit obsessive about it and then sometimes burn out on it. I feel like I need a bit more variety for the second half of the year.

Feeling really happy about plans in general.

Back for a bit

Back in Newcastle this evening, but we’ll have another trip to Dumfries and Galloway later in the summer. Hoping for drier weather next time.

In the meantime, I’ve got a new game idea that I’ll be starting to play around with this week, and a few house things to start tinkering with. Both of these are the beginning of projects that will culminate in the autumn, which is quite exciting. It means autumn isn’t a million miles away!
