Stuff to do: Monday edition

As a self-employed type I’m normally a total procrastinator with my tax return and leave it till the deadline in January, but Geth and I have a meeting with our mortgage broker this week (great timing, I know) and I need my most recent calculations, so the return has been today’s boring job. I’m trying to see it as something I now don’t have to do in January.

Another slightly backwards day running-wise as I’m going to the Monday evening run with the social group again. I feel a bit less out-of-sorts about it than last week though so maybe I’ll get used to it if I go regularly!

Super quiet Sunday

Just a short run this morning followed by the London Marathon coverage on the TV while getting on with a few things. A little bit wistful as it’s the first time since 2018 I’m not running London, but hopefully I’ll get to do it again one day!

A busier couple of days ahead but I’m eyeing a good end to the upcoming week.

Running but otherwise zzzzz

Quiet weekend has almost landed. It’s pretty wet here this afternoon and I’ll be glad to be inside all weekend (running excepted!).

I went out with the social run group this morning – a nice steady run with just three of us. The rain held off till nearly the end! Planning to join the group again later in the weekend if it’s not too wet / I’m not too lazy 🙂

Eyes on October

Nice quiet week continues and so does the planning for my Hallowe’en game. The aim is to get everything sketched out this week and then start the coding for it next week. Excited to get back into game-making after doing other things for a few months.

Also excited about a quiet weekend for the first time since August! September has been an interesting but fairly manic month.

A nice start to the week

My comma day run was lovely. It was a wet evening but there was a lovely rainbow at one point, and it was really nice to run with the social group! Onto the next thousand now with a nice gentle mile this morning.

A quieter week at work this week so I’m hoping for some early finishes. Got a game to finish playing and another to start making 🙂

Back on it

I did my first longer-than-a-mile run since the GNR today – back with the social group. I was a bit nervous beforehand that my legs would have forgotten how to pick up the pace, but it was fine today and my back issues seem to have retreated for now. I’ve got lots of plans for my strength training this autumn to try and keep them away.

Now for the weekend. Lots of running, a bit of house stuff and some family time.

Getting settled

We’ve definitely come back to cooler weather. Even needing a couple of hours of heating on here and there! I am happiest in these mid-range temperatures though, and I feel like I can settle now. Gradually doing all the post-travel sorting out this week and getting things ready for the happy autumn ahead.

New Monkey Island game out now (it was released yesterday evening) so I’m just quickly finishing off my marathon of the previous games. Should be delving into the new one tonight!

Mild jetlag

Early blog today as I’m awake early due to getting used to being up for a dawn run in Spain. Today’s train isn’t till closer to lunchtime so I thought I’d get a few things done first. I’m sure this early rising won’t last but I’ll make the most of it for now!

It’s been a peaceful few days but I’m looking forward to getting home.
