Back on the train

On my travels again today! Flying visit to Edinburgh as I still have my dentist there; Geth holding the fort at home again. Glad to be getting most of my summer train journeys out of the way while there still seems to be relatively little disruption!

Back home tomorrow for the start of a very quiet weekend.

Quick breather

Day in the house today so I’m doing a bit of tidying, have typed up the very beginning of a new game file and am trying not to spend too much time reading the news.

Running-wise the training plan has taken a back seat for the last week or so for a couple of reasons: (1) I still don’t feel fully recovered from Edinburgh and am a bit tired in general due to my new meds; and (2) the last few days have been way too hot to get any serious running done. Hoping the weather will cool down (and that life will calm down!) before too long.

And sleep

Very tired tonight after travelling home! I had a lovely time at the gig yesterday (though it was far too hot to go and see most of the bands – I sat in the shade under a tree instead).

More dashing about later in the week but a nice quiet day tomorrow.

Sunhat time

Just a quick post today before heading out. It’s still crazy hot here in London so I’ll be drinking lots of water and sticking to the shade most of the afternoon once I get to the venue. Not going too early either as the support bands I’m interested in don’t start till about 6pm!

Off adventuring again

I’ve got another outdoor Duran Duran gig to attend this weekend so I’m off down to London tomorrow (timing could have been better, looks like it’s going to be impossibly hot down there) while Geth holds the fort at home. This will be the very last of my pandemic-postponed events (not counting the two that never got rescheduled – I’m still holding out hope for them but it’s looking unlikely now!).

Once I was finally able to break free of the endless news-watching trap in which I had become entangled due to this week’s events, I had a really good go at Bravely Default II yesterday. I got the game when it came out in February 2021 and have been playing it on and off for over a year, but hadn’t actually opened it up since last October – I’ve been far too busy with other things since then! Hopefully this summer I will actually finish it.

A new week…

…and a much quieter one. Until the weekend, that is, when I’ll be out and about again 🙂

I’m enjoying some videogames I haven’t played for a while, and some old running routes from earlier in the year.

Post-deadline

I’m finding it a bit difficult to believe that Things that Happened in Houghtonbridge is finally out… but it is, and you can play it here! I’ve been working on the game since February and it turned into a bit of a behemoth. It’s a lot more narrative-focused than my previous games and so it required a lot of revision during the creation process (I was still adding scenes as late as yesterday!). I’m really happy that it’s finished now.

Today I went to the hospital to have one of my hearing aids fixed, meaning that I can now finally hear in stereo again (it’s been a few months so it’ll take some adjustment). Looking forward to a really quiet weekend after a mad month.
