Never enough projects!

Just a mile this morning…

…as I had a busy day ahead. Run went well though as I’m feeling a bit less fatigued!

I spent most of the afternoon writing and doing day job work, but I’m also trying to spend 30 minutes a day working on the house at the moment. Housework and de-hoarding have taken a real back seat this year (mainly because we haven’t had many visitors, who are usually my main motivation for trying to get the house to look nice!), and I’ve tried various strategies, but none of them have really stuck. One of the ones that didn’t work for me did have a maxim that has stayed in my mind, however: why is it that only visitors deserve to see your house at its best? Keeping on top of the house is really hard for me because there are so many other things that take priority. But I’d like to be more comfortable in my home (especially as I spend 99% of my time in it these days!), and so I’m starting again with yet another online method, despite the many other projects I’m juggling at the present time.

I’ve had a few days off videogaming as there are too many other things going on at the moment. I’m going to carve out some time for it tomorrow evening, though, as it’s absolutely the most relaxing thing I can do for myself.

Christmas loungewear
One more pair of Christmas trousers from the weekend! These are loungewear rather than leggings and they are the comfiest.

Today’s earworm playlist:

Judy Garland – ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’
Panjabi MC – ‘Mundian To Bach Ke’
Ludwig Göransson – ‘The Mandalorian [Main Theme]’
Duran Duran – ‘Friends Of Mine’

Racking up the projects

Just a mile this morning…

…because I’m still waking up with no energy, and I’m starting to get a bit worried. Hoping this fatigue will pass soon.

I’ve been very busy with writing projects most of today. I did my usual amount for my NaNoWriMo project, then a good chunk of planning for my next Adventuron jam game, then planned out a branching story that I’m hoping to put on another platform soon. I also had a bit of last-minute day job work. Most of the evening has been taken up with admin, but I’m still hoping to squeeze an hour of videogaming in before bed.

It’s all a bit mental and busy, but it always is during November! At least I’ve got a little more time than usual this year with the lockdown…

Tomorrow should be similar, though I’m hoping to be less tired in the morning.

Fetch hoodie
I have spent the weekend being comfy in loungewear and my new Fetch Everyone hoodie. Most of my old hoodies are getting pretty tatty now so I’m trying to collect a few new ones.

Today’s earworm playlist:

The Knack – ‘My Sharona’

Running plans

Back to my Monday recovery mile today…

…and I’m getting really excited now about finally finding out what is happening with the London Marathon this week! I have two totally different sets of running adventures planned for the next couple of months, depending on what the decision is. We’ll definitely hear by Friday, apparently!

As I have done for the past couple of weeks, I’m taking today off – I got all of today’s work done yesterday so that I could do this again. I’ve got a couple of decent-sized videogames that I want to get into this week, so I should be able to get a good start on those today.

It’s the first week of August, so that means new writing and game creation projects. I’ll get cracking on those tomorrow!

Rainbow loungewear
This week’s new loungewear, continuing my ‘bright colours to cheer up 2020’ theme.

Today’s earworm playlist:

Dave Cummins – ‘Belle Vue’
Nathan Lane, Jason Weaver, Joseph Williams and Ernie Sabella – ‘Hakuna Matata’

Proper endings

Another mile today…

…as I’m fairly busy this week so can only squeeze in super-short runs. I had a small bit of day job work to do today, and I also did the final bugfix for my most recent jam game. This was a bit more complicated than expected as I had to do a lot of fiddling with the Spectrum versions to get them to compile. The workaround wasn’t 100% perfect, but they’ll do for now, and with all the reported bugs fixed the game is a much better product than it was on first release.

As such, I finally feel I’m done with One Last Thing… now and can focus all my energies on the next few projects!

I’m going to squeeze in a couple more hours of coding and then get some Paper Mario played this evening. I’m on a tricky section, but I think I’m close to the end of the game now – somewhere between one and three play sessions should finish the plot, I expect.

Tomorrow I’m going to have a play with some simple graphics for the game project I’m working on this week.

Washing line
2020: the year of brightly coloured trousers (you can’t see all the examples on the line from this angle but I assure you there are quite a lot of them). They really cheer me up at the moment!

Today’s earworm playlist:

Queen – ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Unrefreshed

Back to the mile route this morning…

…which was slow and low-energy, and set the pattern for the slow and low-energy day I’ve been having. I did have a relatively quiet weekend and I’d hoped to be able to bounce back a bit this week, but all I want to do is sleep. Hopefully I’ll be a bit more with-it tomorrow!

Loungewear
I have never been the sort of person to favour loungewear (i.e. ‘daytime pyjamas’) but lockdown does strange things to us all. I ordered a couple of pairs of these brightly coloured Lucy Locket Loves loungewear trousers and they are SO COMFY that I am going to be wearing them every weekend from now on.

Today’s earworm playlist:

Norman Greenbaum – ‘Spirit In The Sky’
ACE+ – ‘The Battle Is Upon Us’
Nobuo Uematsu – ‘Cornelia Castle’
Roxette – ‘Sleeping In My Car’
