A long week

I can’t believe this working week has only been four days! It’s felt like forever. Geth and I have both been really busy and the weekend is very welcome right now.

I’ve had a bad hip all week and so have only been doing short runs. I’ve done a lot of yoga to try and sort it out, and it is getting better, but only gradually. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to do my planned weekend running and walking but we’ll see.

I’m thoroughly ensconced in the coding for my next game, which is really, really enjoyable. It’s a fairly big project though and I’m already looking forward to going back to experimenting with smaller games over the summer.

Still doing a fair amount of day job work too. Lots going on at the moment!

Knots and crosses

Back to normal today – I’ve been working most of the day and have had the Christmas tunes on. Feeling as though I might finally be over my cold as well! I headed out to vote earlier this evening, but otherwise it’s just going to be a quiet night in and then early to bed. No election results for me – my nerves can’t take it!

Out and about at various points tomorrow to celebrate Geth’s end of term.

Not really an OOTD: Geth is hoping this selfie will still be valid for a free beer at Brewdog tomorrow.

Today’s earworm playlist:

Duran Duran – ‘Winter Marches On’
Arcadia – ‘Election Day’
The Boomtown Rats – ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’
Duran Duran – ‘Michael, You’ve Got A Lot To Answer For’

Moving figures

A fairly busy Thursday today. Geth and I were out at Slimming World in the morning – we both had small gains but that’s to be expected after a weekend away – and after a trip to the polling station to vote in the PCC elections, I spent the afternoon getting the house ready for our boardgaming gathering tonight.

Back to writing tomorrow!

Back and forth

Last night was fairly successful! Ukulele class was great and I’ve got lots of things to practise during the half term break. I then went to poetry night and performed some of my poems again, with marginally fewer nerves than last time. Looking forward to the next opportunity.

This morning I went to the earlier group at Slimming World, then to the polling station to vote for myself and proxy for Geth – we’re sort of back and forth in between Newcastle and Edinburgh this week, so he wasn’t able to vote in person.

This afternoon I’ve been practising ukulele and doing a bit of editing for clients. More of the same tomorrow.

OOTD 23rd May 2019
OOTD: the weather can’t make up its mind at the moment, so hoodies are having a moment in my world. Glasses Emporio Armani (2017), hoodie Sonar (2006).

Today’s earworm playlist:

Jonas Brothers – Sucker
The Midnight – Crystalline
Elton John – I’m Still Standing
Take That – It Only Takes A Minute
Wilson Pickett – Mustang Sally
Duran Duran – Save A Prayer
Chris Isaak – Wicked Game
The Midnight – Los Angeles

Nearly the weekend

It’s been a busy day – I went to the polling station with Geth first thing to vote in the council and mayoral elections, then to Slimming World (I put on an obscene amount of weight this week but I’m trying not to panic because it’s presumably just post-marathon bloat – this has happened after races before). I’ve spent the rest of the day doing editing for clients.

Tomorrow should be a slightly quieter day. I’m already looking forward to the bank holiday weekend!

OOTD 2nd May 2019
OOTD: getting bored of cropping my eyes out so I I thought I’d show off my new sunglasses instead. Sunglasses Ray-Ban (2019), jacket unknown brand (estimated vintage 1990s, bought at vintage shop 2003), dress Monteau (2018).
